The Minolta MAXXUM 5000 (5000 AF in Europe and α-5000 in Japan) 35 mm SLR camera was introduced in the 1980s. It is the beginner version of the Minolta 7000 and 9000. It has an autofocus function that can be turned off for manual focus. It uses 4 AAA batteries as a power source.
